Overview

With the purpose of this role is to achieve a high level of quality control within the factory and supply chain environment ensuring Quality is a primary priority, while working to health and safety standards.

The individual will be responsible for undertaking and documenting a variety of robust inspection and testing techniques that been agreed between the business and the customer/suppliers.

Key Accountability's

  • To ensure that everything from raw materials through production processes, meets quality and safety standards specified in the purchasing/project and product documentation. Methodical, Accurate, Timely Testing.


  • Conduct inspection activities against drawings and specification to verify that the manufacturing process output is compliant.


  • Maintain and calibrate inspection, measuring and test equipment in line with company procedures as and when required.


  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions, calling for repairs or segregation of non-conforming equipment.


  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work confirming re-work as required within and outside of the business.


  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, rejecting, and returning unacceptable materials via procurement.


  • Approves sub-contracted work either on site or externally as an when required by the business.


  • Help with the auditing process as required:

  • Support internal auditors during systems and process audits.


  • Coordinate the identification, segregation, control, and documentation of non-conforming product, including internal scrap, re-work, concessional items, and customer returns.


  • Support production in resolving queries with customer information, related IT systems to assist in the process.


  • Maintaining accurate records and presenting statistics: Record and maintain inspection and test records.


  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records (both paper and electronic) of the calibration of inspection, measuring and test equipment stored in the standards room or nominated area.


  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records (both paper and electronic) of non-conforming product, including internal scrap, rework, concessional items and customer returns.


  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of audits undertaken.


  • Analyse data recorded and present statistics/reports as required.


  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of any involvement in problem solving activities.


  • Highlighting problems and helping establish root causes and improvements.


  • Liaise with the project, operation & industrial teams, in finding solutions to highlighted problems

  • Complying with Company H&S Policy and procedures at all times.


  • Training:

  • Maintains his/her own professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, etc. as appropriate and other relevant NDE standards.

  • Due to the continually changing nature of the job as we strive for excellence and pursue continual improvement, the duties of the job holder will change, and he/she will be expected to perform any other duties and future reasonable task the manager may deem as suitable for the role as required.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

Essentials

  • CSWIP Visual Welding Inspector (3.0)

  • PCN Level 2 Penetrant Testing (PT/DPI)

  • PCN Level 2 Magnetic Particle Testing (MT/MPI)

  • CSWIP Welding Inspector (3.1)

  • ICorr – Level 1 Paint Inspector

  • ICorr – Level 2 Paint Inspector


Desirables

Willingness to work towards career opportunities, of the following:

  • FARO – Vantage Laser Tracker – Level 1

  • Heavy engineering experience.
