Project Manager

Role Overview

The purpose of the role is to manage projects on behalf of TSP Engineering in various industry sectors. To act as the client contact and retain overall responsibility for successful delivery of Projects to schedule, quality and budget.

Key Accountabilities

  • Act as the principle client contact, ensuring clients requirements are correctly interpreted and reflected in deliverables and maintaining a positive working relationship throughout the project duration whilst remaining commercial in any decisions
  • Provide leadership and direction to Project Engineers, Project Planners, Manufacturing Teams and support staff in delivering Projects against schedule, quality and budget
  • To be responsible for delivering projects to time, cost and quality and in accordance with the Business Management Systems
  • To identify potential risks and opportunities and actively resolve any issues affecting project delivery to time, cost and quality
  • Ensuring project schedules and costs are regularly reviewed and that effective change control procedures are established and adhered to throughout the project duration

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ)
  • Engineering Degree or Equivalent Practical Mechanical Engineering experience is desirable
  • Project Management background with demonstrable experience and proven success in managing and delivering multi-discipline projects through all phases
  • A working knowledge of project management principles, tools and techniques
  • An appreciation of project management planning, estimating, risk identification, management and mitigation processes and their application across multi-disciplined teams
  • Experience in ensuring the adherence to client contracts and specifications

The ideal candidate will have good practical skills and attention to detail. Previous experience in a Project Management role is essential whilst being able to underpin this with a good mechanical engineering knowledge and practice. Overall, the right candidate must have a good attitude, be flexible in the shift patterns and prepared to work overtime where there is a business requirement.

 

Electrical Control Panel Builder/Wirer

Role Overview

To provide knowledge and practical skills that ensure the safe and effective delivery of electrical manufacturing and installation including electrical maintenance activities as requested by the team leader. To perform high standards of work and produce on time quality products.

  • Ensure and deliver safe standards of workmanship that comply with all relevant health and safety legislation

Role Overview

The purpose of this role is to support the Team Leader with the manufacturing unit in achieving plant operational targets, product quality, customer service and health & safety objectives.

Management Accountant

Role Overview

This role is to support the Finance Director and be involved in the financial and management reporting and financial controls. It will involve overseeing the Financial Ledgers and purchase and sales transaction processing and supporting the development of the IT and reporting systems.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assisting in the timely preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Assisting in the production of budgets and monthly/quarterly forecasts
  • Preparation and posting of accruals, prepayments, and other month end journals

Role Overview

The Purpose of this role is to provide a service to the quality and environmental manager to provide customer confidence in the business processes and procedures and enable the retention of the BS EN ISO 9001/19443 series accreditation by.

  • Providing technical expertise and support all departments
  • Supporting and implementing new processes into the organisation

Key Accountabilities

  • Control and organise QA activities to maximise throughput and achieve cost and delivery targets ensuring products comply with the design specification for quality to give customer satisfaction

Role Overview

The purpose of this role is to manage, plan and organise the efficient and effective support to the CEO.

Role Overview

The purpose of this role is to plan and organise the efficient & effective communications to the TSP Engineering Business and its Customer and Vendor Contacts for all matters relating to Marketing and General Comms.

Marketing:

  • Awards Submissions – Writing and submitting award submissions.
  • Collating information for review with Management Team and organize events relating to the awards ceremonies

Promotional Material & Social Media content:

  • Ensure TSP has a comprehensive portfolio of promotional material to enable the effective sales and marketing of the business
  • Literature: Datasheets, Case Studies, Brochures, CDs
  • Exhibition Stand: General, Steel, Nuclear, Oil & Gas
  • Roller Banners: 1m wide for specific purposes
  • Website & Social Media: Responsible for maintaining and keeping current

Customer Databases:

  • General items required:- Low cost items i.e. pens etc for exhibition stands and more expensive items for gifts for important customers

Image Library:

  • Ensure a library of good quality images are kept for promotional use
  • Customer questionnaires to be carried out to get feedback to help improve our systems and performance

On Site Visits:

  • Co-ordinate the activities for the preparation of high profile visits: clients, MPs, students, media. Ensure the workshop is presentable and Tata Steel branded PPE is worn in photographs/film

Communications:

  • Various channels of Comms used to ensure employees are being given regular information. The purpose of which to ensure closer working relations between shop-floor, office staff and management and raise morale
  • Team Brief: Prepare the content of the Team Brief each month
  • Comms Hub: Collate the information for the Comms Hub TV each week. Ensure the Comms Hub notice-board is kept up to date with current information.  Proceed with the touch screen monitor station so workshop employees can access the intranet

Role Overview

Role Overview

  • To co-ordinate and be responsible for the workshop forward load resourced schedule to achieve contractual delivery dates

Proposals Assistant

Role Overview

The purpose of this role is to assist and provide bid support in tendering for new business. Supporting the day to day management and control of proposals within the Commercial Department.

  • Produce Tender Submissions as directed by Commercial Proposals & Bids Manager
  • Edit larger proposals to ensure consistency of text, liaise with other departments and bidding teams as necessary

Document Controller

Role Overview

  • Managing and maintain templates, spreadsheets and databases
  • Control documentation in/out, including reproduction, collation, transmittal etc. and maintain an outgoing Document Control register
  • Control, reproduce and issue of large scale Drawings to Workshops and maintain registers
  • Interfacing with Manufacturing Workshops – manage and control all manufacturing drawings and restricted drawing held within the Workshops environment (departments include Goods Inward, Industrial Engineers, Fabrication, Machine Shop and Assembly)
  • Compilation and completion of all the Lifetime Quality Records for internal and external Clients

Project Engineer x2

Overview

The purpose of this role is to be the main technical lead on multidiscipline projects of varying depth and scope. To plan, manage and monitor a multidiscipline team of Engineers to support project delivery. To report functionally to the Project Manager on the work being undertaken whilst remaining commercially focused.

Key Accountabilities 

  • To assess project requirements from a technical perspective
  • To deliver work in accordance with the business management systems and to plan, monitor, forecast and control various aspects of a project. In particular safety, quality, technical, schedule and resource

  • To liaise with manufacturers, organise and or carry our inspection and expediting activities to satisfy the project requirements
  • To set up, control and be responsible for the safe, efficient and timely erection and commissioning of plant and equipment both within workshop assembly and at customers site. This is to include incorporation of as built modifications within the final project document packages

Pipefitter x2

Overview

The applicant will be responsible for carrying out various roles in the refurbishing pipe shop division including hydraulic & lubrication systems, mainly repairing damaged pipes & testing. Other duties will be stripping out spray pipes, cleaning nozzles, re-fit to spray pipes & testing to determine the correct spray pattern can be achieved. The applicant will also carry out any maintenance tasks, to assist the smooth running of the shop floor.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Level 3 NVQ in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering /Pipefiting and Assembly or equivalent would be preferred
  • Experience of fitting carbon, stainless and brass pipework
  • Knowledge of hydraulic & lubrication systems

CNC Machinist x3

Overview

The purpose of this role is to machine items from a combination of work instructions, reading drawing information and understanding NC Programming. This will be used to aid and support the Team Leader with achieving deadlines of manufactured part, product quality and health & safety objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ability to Set, Operate and check programs over a variety of CNC Horizontal and Vertical Milling machines working in heavy industry
  • Ability to Set, Operate and check programs over a variety of CNC Lathe & Vertical Boring machines working in heavy industry
  • Ensure prior to performing machining activities, health and safety measures are taking into consideration and that any risks involved are considered

Located on Britain’s Energy Coast we employ over 210 people and operate from one of the largest and most comprehensively equipped workshops in the UK. With our years of engineering and manufacturing experience we guarantee to deliver exacting standards of quality and excellent levels of service.

We offer fabrication, machining, fitting, assembly and testing facilities, with a floor capacity of 19,200m2, two five-meter deep manufacturing pits and a lifting capacity of 130 tonnes.
