Management Accountant

This role is to support the Finance Director and be involved in the financial and management reporting and financial controls.  It will involve overseeing the Financial Ledgers and purchase and sales transaction processing and supporting the development of the IT and reporting systems.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the timely preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Assisting in the production of budgets and monthly/quarterly forecasts
  • Preparation and posting of accruals, prepayments and other month end journals
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Providing accurate and timely commercial analysis and support
  • Establish and ensure compliance with agreed financial processes and controls
  • Weekly cash flow forecasting
  • Ad-hoc projects as required
  • Assist with identifying opportunities to improving efficiencies
  • Proactively challenge existing processes to ensure best practice
  • Assist with the development of the Microsoft Navision system and reporting
  • Administer and input into the Group reporting system for monthly and annual accounts, including quarter, half year and full year disclosures and variances against AP and Standard.
  • Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
  • Project cost reporting and reviews, and working with the project team to minimise WIP through timely invoicing of payment milestones
  • Controlling the treasury activities and cash flow forecasting.
  • Completion of Monthly statistical reports
  • Controlling the sales ledger and liaising with customers and project teams to ensure payments are received in a timely manner

Ideally a part qualified or recently qualified accountant (ACA; CIMA; ACCA or equivalent) with experience working in an engineering/manufacturing setting.

IT literate, with knowledge of Microsoft Office and excellent excel skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Navision ERP software package would be an advantage

 

Mechanical Lead Engineer

Leading a team of design and lead engineers in the delivery of projects, managing the preparation of outline and detailed engineering designs and working closely with client and contract partners.

Ensuring deliverables are prepared to satisfy the project requirements, cost and schedule whilst working safely and to the company’s quality management system.

Principal Accountabilities for the role of Mechanical Lead Engineer :

  • Liaising with the commercial and projects teams to provide appropriate support to the enquiry, project, bid or tender.
  • All areas of design and project management including, but not limited to, concept and detailed design, calculations, time, cost and resource management, various specifications, O&M manuals, CE marking, risk assessments, technical specification of items, site surveys and client meetings.

Bonus experience for the role of Mechanical Lead Engineer :

  • Project Management / APM or other membership
  • FEA / Finite Element Analysis
  • CE Marking
  • Hand calculations
  • EC&I
  • Lifting beams
  • Piping / fluid services
  • Chartered Engineer
